When started in 1994 it only offered BE courses. Now it offers Mtech, MA, MSc, ASCOM, MSW, EMBA, and Ayurveda programs as well. Established by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi or Amma , within the eco friendly campus students are provided advanced education, in order to become successful citizens. They have four other campuses in Bangalore, Amritapuri, Kochi and Mysore. The college was recently in news as the B.tech students developed Amrita Surya Vahini— The Solar Auto Rickshaw.
