Indians Stand As The Second Biggest Job Creators In London
BANGALORE: Indians have bagged the title for the year 2015 as the second biggest job creators in London.
A recent data by London and Partners has disclosed that Indian companies have already established 504 new jobs in London, falling in second to the U.S. with the count of 1983 job establishment. China on the other hand that has invested largely in UK managed to establish only 277 jobs so far this year, reports TOI.
The growing number of jobs being set up by Indian business for Londoners has been steadily increasing with each passing year. Back in 2012, India produced 404 jobs in London which was followed consecutively by 429 in 2013 and 438 in 2014.
With the bloom in tech startups, a large number of foreign companies are rushing forward in either expanding or stationing their headquarters in London like never before. According to the Mayor’s business and promotional company, a record of 270 companies that created around 5,000 jobs has made a significant growth in the last year.
In regards to new companies, 28 new Indian startups have established shops in London this year which is four more than the Chinese. Global Companies like Greenland Group, Pfizer and Tata Elxsi have either established their headquarters in London or are further expanding their business. Going back ten years, only 26 tech companies made it to London; however in the previous financial year the record was set at 108. "Companies from India, China, Japan, Australia, Spain and France are also key investors, creating many jobs in tech, financial and business services and the life science industry,” said London and Partners
"Over the last decade, foreign investment in London has gone through the roof and the tech sector is now leading the way,” said Gordon Innes, CEO of London and Partners.
