With a score of 89.42 in the ranking analysis, IIT Madras (now Chennai) tops the list of colleges in the category of Engineering. Founded in 1959, IIT, Madras is a residential institute with nearly 550 faculty, 8000 students, and 1250 administrative and supporting staff. 2. IIT, Bombay:

The technology institute was founded in 1958 and is located in the city of Mumbai. IIT Bombay gained a score of 87.67 in the India Rankings 2016 and is second only to IIT, Madras.
