Budget 2014-15: Set To Build Higher Education Reforms

BANGALORE: A large population of India is young and mostly in schools and colleges. Therefore, the time has come for the current Govt that will deliver its maiden Budget that can bring in radical changes in education. With this in mind, we have listed a few cardinal ideas that the upcoming budget should incorporate to bring back the lost glory of Indian education system, reports Yahoo Finance.

Allow All Educational Institutes to be Section 25 Companies
With the upcoming 2014-15 budget in the corner, the Govt is all set to permit the corporate houses to set up higher educational institutions like multi-disciplinary universities and colleges by hovering a separate not-for-profit entity under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956.
By introducing this measure, the private entities are entitled to get their own set of advantages like less rigid accounting requirements, lower share capital to start a company. These advantages also effectively lower the entry norms to setting up educational institutions.
It is also said that with the foreign universities set to enter the Indian shores, the Act will encourage more investments from private players into the education sector and offer better educational opportunities to the youth of the country.
