8. Not being considered if you're a long-distance candidate

Some organizations prefer local candidates as they do not want to pay off relocation expenses. While you did find a job description which can fit your expectations, but when they ask for the local candidates, it is quite unfair. Can you bear it while you are qualified for the job but only you couldn’t meet the requirement for a local candidate? Many employers of today are not considering those who are long-distance candidate.

9. Routine invasions of privacy in the initial application

It is not necessary for employers to know the identity details even before you appear for the interview. However some of the companies are asking for the driver’s license number and references even in the initial application. Alison Green says “...And it's often not optional, since many online application systems won't accept an application without these items. But there's no reason to require this kind of information from candidates who haven't even gone through an initial screening round yet.”
