88pct Indian Employees Ready For Job Switch In MNC: Survey
BENGALURU: Around 88percent of employees working in Indian organizations say that they will swap to a MNC if given a choice, a study by JobBuzz confirms. Nearly two third respondents of the same research, show preference for international organizations over Indian companies, reports Economic Times.
The survey is called ‘JobBuzz Indian vs. MNC Wrokplace Study 2016’ that surveyed 1023 employees across India. In the survey, 71percent works in Indian organizations and 29percent in MNCs.
COO of TimesJobs.com, Vivek Madhulkar said, "While the cultural differences between MNCs and Indian corporations are shrinking, there still exist good and bad perceptions on both fronts, MNCs are lauded for their processes and professionalism while Indian companies are valued for job security and appreciating people rather than profiles. On the other hand, MNCs suffer from the 'perform or perish' environment perception, while Indian companies have to deal with issues of favouritism and the like.”
59percent of Indian employees showed knack towards MNCs as better employers while 79percent of MNC employees were happy to work in MNCs.
A very small portion of respondents considered Indian organizations as better places to work. 20percent from automobile industry and 25percent from IT, telecom, dotcom and internet sectors agreed to this view.
89percent of junior level professionals and 80percent from senior end confirm international organizations as better options over Indian ones.
80percent female work force showed tilt towards international companies. In case of men, this ratio was 68percent.
When inquired about perks of working in an international agency, 33percent considered better packages as the reason. 33 percent considered compensation as the ground of grievance. 65percent were however happy with the pay structure in Indian companies.
22percent MNC workers accepted that their organizations offer better perks for career boost and growth. 19percent of MNC employees were impressed with the work culture in international companies.
The Jobbuzz survey considered Professional exposure for career advancement as an aspect where Indian organizations lagged 2percent and the same was 12percent for international organizations.
Indian companies turned better than international ones in case of work-life balance. In percent, its 30percent for Indian organizations and 12percent for Indian companies.
In case of work environment 37percent voted for Indian companies with greater bonhomie and camaraderie among staffers and other stakeholders. For international companies 50percent complained of high stress and this only limited to 8percent among Indian employees.
The common aspect where both the competing job markets suffered poor response was long working hours with respondents agreeing upto 21percent.
Indian employees also complained of workplace politics, favouritism and nepotism in office. They also said that these led to unprofessional practices disrupting corporate decorum. MNC did not have such grievances.
At the last place, when questioned about swapping jobs, Indian employees agreed instant while those from MNCs stepped back.
