Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of engineering, physics and material science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is considered as one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines in the field of engineering study.
Mechanical engineers in this field of study design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal devices that include tools, engines and machines.
According to BLS, employment of mechanical engineers is projected to grow 5 percent by 2022 and job prospects may be finest for those who are well versed with most of the recent advances in technology.
