Hot IT Job No. 6: Cloud Architect

While the business executives and investors have now tuned into the cloud concept, demand is growing for IT pros who can lead the charge to deliver on the increased efficiency and agility promised by the private cloud.

The primary work of a cloud architect working in a consulting capacity will be to analyze the client's environment and match their requirements with the cloud technologies best suited for those needs. These cloud architects also need to know which cloud technologies are feasible for different budgets, business sizes, and project scopes.

"There's so much positive momentum toward cloud integration," exclaims Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable Network Security. "People who can really identify the architecture from a simplicity point of view are going to be in demand," he added.

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or a related certification programs is required to gain entry into this line of work.
