The emergence of successful female script writers in Bollywood is not something new.  It started with Ila Bedi Dutta in Agneepath and now the trend continues. If you also want to bag a career in writing for movies or television shows, there are opportunities galore, although it will take exceptional skills to rise above the competition. Urmi Juvekar, script writer for Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, comments in an interview with TOI, "The role of a screenwriter is peculiarly different from a fiction writer. We are writing for a picture and a director’s perception of my words is sometimes entirely different from the image I had in my head when I wrote them.”

Creative Head

However biased it may sound, but it is a universally accepted fact that   women bring in more creativity in projects when compared to their male counterparts. One simple reason is a woman’s exceptional capacity to multi-task while working on a project. . Any creative head of a film or television show needs to coordinate among different departments that include scripting, production, designing, logistics and casting. The profile requires exceptional levels of commitment as well as ground professionalism but once you learn the ropes of the trade, there will be definite success at your doorstep.
