#5 Germany: Inequality in pay between men and women in general remains high in Europe, but nowhere on the continent is the gender pay gap bigger than in Germany. In fact Germany is third among developed countries where women working full-time earn 21.6 percent less than their male counterparts. The situation occurs mainly because more women work in part-time jobs that pay lower rates than full-time work, rather than inequality between male and female wages. But this is not the only reason to blame, the German tax system also favors the men stating that the man as the earner and the woman as the mother and housekeeper.
