3. Japan

While Japan is ranked as the 10th largest populous country in the world with a number of over 127 million people, this East Asian island nation proud to have 44 percent of tertiary educated adult population. Like most of the developed countries elementary and lower secondary education is must in Japan. There are both public and private kindergartens and day-care centers to offer former education before elementary school.  Until lower secondary, most of the students attend public schools but then they move to private institutions to continue their upper secondary and university studies.
