33 U.S. Varsities to Attract Mumbai Students
Mumbai: As many as 33 universities from the United States will participate in the U.S. University Fair 2013 in Mumbai Sep 15, an official statement said.
The participating universities would represent a wide geographical area in the U.S. and offer a range of academic programmes at undergraduate and graduate levels, a statement issued to the press by the U.S. Consulate said.
"Bringing together so many American colleges in one place provides a great opportunity to obtain first-hand information from the college representatives. There are excellent educational opportunities available in the U.S. for Indian students," U.S. Consul-General Peter Haas said.
Promoting education exchange between the U.S. and India is one of the U.S. government's top priorities in India, and the university fair is one activity designed to help achieve the goal of greater student exchange, he said.
The students will have one-on-one sessions with the college representatives, collect college application forms, receive information about the academic programmes and student life, and can also avail spot admissions.
The fair is being conducted by the United States-India Education Foundation and the Institute of International Education.
