The survey by these researchers examined the number of people who had started from a scratch and made it big in America. The outcome wasn’t as per predictions.  The probability of such a socioeconomic surge was as low as 5 percent in the Atlanta, Columbus, Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ohio, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Dayton and Florida.

According to the Brooklyn Magazine, getting in Harvard is comparatively easier than getting in some reputed public schools in New York. 16,675 students applied for Brooklyn Latin School for its September 2014 openings out of which only 3 percent could nail it. Furthermore, the Queens High School for the Sciences at York College and the High School of American Studies in the Bronx has an acceptance rate of 1 percent.
