The typical job duties include evaluating the commercial practicality of new mining ventures; carrying out feasibility studies; modeling/designing potential mine sites; establishing plans for mines; consulting specialist PC software to support planning programmes; supervising major construction projects and making sure that operations are functioning smoothly; tracking activities beneath the ground; supervising staff activities; guarantying the safety of mining equipment and evaluating mine equipment supplies; establishing the costs and scheduling supplies; assessing extraction systems; monitoring the health and safety of the site, especially with regards  to issues related to ventilation; and so on.
