6. New York

A 4.7 percent rise in tech pay catapulted New York from 11th slot to 6th position this year. Whereas the average IT salaries in this city was approximately $93,915, which is an increase by $4,246 compared to the previous year.

5. Boston

With an average salary that is around $94,531, Boston is the next entry in the list. The Hub swapped its position with Seattle in this year's survey. This is largely due to the fact that the city experienced a 0.2 percent dip in pay compared to the previous year.
