BANGALORE: There is finally some good news for Indian universities that have lately found no place in the world's top rankings. To overcome that situation India has now come out strongly with a record number of Indian universities feature in the new Asian Universities Ranking published by QS. If you’re eager to take a note, here is a list of top 10 Indian universities that make it to the Asia 2014 rankings, as listed by Yahoo Finance.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the seven Institutes of Technology created as centers of excellence for higher training, research and development in the field of science, engineering and technology in India. IIT Delhi was established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology Act in 1963 and was later renamed as Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. It was then given the status of a deemed university with powers to decide its own academic policies, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.
IIT Delhi is now the highest ranked Indian institution in the recently launched Quacquarelli Symonds University Rankings: Asia 2014.
