Pay attention to the structure of your resume

It is simplest for the recruiter, if you summarize your background and core skills at the top of your resume. Make sure your most relevant job role is on the first page. Your education and qualifications are likely to be dated and less relevant to the job at hand, so put these last.

Show how your jobs are relevant

Research has shown that recruiters spend 80 percent of their time on your name, company, job title, job start and end dates and education. If you are changing career paths, emphasize the skills and networks you are bringing to the new industry from these positions.

Keep your resume short

Remember that a recruiter scans a resume in six seconds. Your school cricket prize and lengthy details about your first job is not something a recruiter will thank you for.
