  • UPSC collaborates with 113 organisations to connect non-selected candidates with alternative career opportunities.
  • ‘PRATIBHA Setu’ turns UPSC’s passive database into a live recruitment bridge for public and private sector roles.
  • Dr. Jitendra Singh lauds it as a "forward-thinking approach" to tap the potential of highly qualified

In a key move towards inclusive utilisation of talent, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has added 113 organisations to its path-breaking 'PRATIBHA Setu' programme. With the aim of harnessing the potential of aspirants who cleared UPSC written exams and interviews but failed to find a place in the final merit list, the programme is redefining competitive exam talent engagement in sectors.

PRATIBHA, an abbreviation for "Professional Resource And Talent Integration", and Setu, referring to 'bridge', duly sums up the initiative's objective bridging qualified but unselected applicants with job prospects in government and private sectors.

"Various private organisations have started approaching the Commission to utilize this reservoir of high-calibre candidates," declared the UPSC in an official statement.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, praising the decision, termed it a "forward-thinking approach to talent deployment", stating that it has dual objectives of ushering in new opportunities for aspirants as well as merit-based recruitment to various industries.

As per Dr. Ajay Kumar, UPSC Chairman, the drive has found increasing appeal from recruiters across various sectors.

What started as the Public Disclosure Scheme in 2018 has now turned into a dynamic, interactive recruitment platform," he said, adding that increasing numbers of registered organisations indicate increasing confidence in the assessment process of the UPSC.

In contrast to its previous version where candidate information was simply put up on the internet PRATIBHA Setu now enables verified organizations to register and directly interact with open-minded, relevant candidates who have opted in. This change represents a move away from passive disclosure towards active engagement.

The candidate response has been hugely encouraging. Most of them have robust domain knowledge, analytical skills, and integrity habits developed over years of rigorous UPSC preparation.

This platform gives such deserving people a second chance at meaningful public and corporate roles," said Dr Singh.

As the UPSC approaches its centenary in 2026, programs such as PRATIBHA Setu are a forward-looking vision for the Commission not only as a hiring agency for government jobs, but as a national integrator of talent. As more parties show interest, the program is likely to expand further, and possibly create a new standard in strategic human resource utilization.
