Indian companies are increasingly turning to global talent in artificial intelligence (AI) to redefine their operations and expand into new markets, according to a report released. The study by payroll and HR platform Deel reveals that approximately 88% of organizations are open to global hiring, with even higher interest in C-suite roles (96%), seed/start-up businesses (98%), and among younger professionals aged 18 to 34 (99%).
The report highlights several key benefits of hiring talent from outside India, primarily the access to a wider talent pool and the ability to penetrate new markets. Currently, about 69% of businesses already employ individuals located outside India, with the tech and finance sectors leading this trend.
One of the most significant advantages cited by 60% of respondents is the opportunity to tap into a diverse range of skills and expertise, which can help organizations build more capable teams. Additionally, 62% of organizations believe that global hiring fosters workplace diversity, bringing fresh perspectives that drive innovation and enhance cultural understanding—both vital for success in today’s globalized business landscape.
The report emphasizes the importance of skills transfer, with 67% of organizations recognizing that hiring international talent allows local employees to learn from their expertise. Notably, only 12% of organizations are not interested in hiring overseas, with 57% of these citing the lack of business entities or teams outside India as the main barrier.
Furthermore, Indian organizations are focusing on work-life balance, flexible work arrangements, and career growth opportunities to attract and retain talent. The report notes that while the adoption of fully remote work remains limited, its significance is notable, especially among startups and younger professionals.
Overall, as Indian firms leverage global talent, they position themselves for greater competitiveness and growth in thethe evolving landscape of AI-driven operations.
