Despite a challenging job market, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) achieved a successful Final Placement process for the MBA Class of 2024. The institute welcomed 23 new recruiters, contributing to the diversity and opportunities for the graduating class.

The new recruiters encompassed a range of industries, including Abhinandan Lodha, Bluestone, Crompton Greaves, DE Shaw, Diageo, Elevation Capital, GDi Partners, HDFC ERGO, India Sotheby’s International Realty, Javis, and Jindal Shadeed. Placements occurred across three clusters, ensuring a broad spectrum of career choices for the students.

Ankur Sinha, Chairperson of the Placement Committee at IIM Ahmedabad, noted an increase in both participating companies and job role diversity. Despite a decline in management consulting offers, there was a notable rise in niche consulting roles. Additionally, hiring by conglomerates and domestic firms increased, reflecting the ongoing demand for top-tier talent.

The placement process unfolded in two stages. The Laterals process focused on students with prior work experience, offering mid-level managerial positions. The Finals stage categorized firms into cohorts based on core business, inviting them to campus across different clusters.

To enhance career flexibility, students were granted the option to make 'dream' applications to preferred firms even with an existing offer. This year saw a significant surge in dream applications, reaching 163, marking a 54% increase from the previous year.

Accenture and Boston Consulting Group emerged as the top recruiters, with Accenture securing 26 offers and Boston Consulting Group offering 23 positions. Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan also played pivotal roles, making 9 and 5 offers, respectively. In the realm of General Management, Adani and Essar Group showcased their commitment with 10 and 6 offers, respectively. The placements exemplify IIM Ahmedabad's resilience and ability to navigate challenges while delivering favorable outcomes for its students.
