  • To be filled via Goa Staff Selection Commission, Goa Public Service Commission, and other recruitment bodies.
  • Special consideration for Class X/XII dropouts and widows, with 4,000 jobs allocated through Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
  • BJP workers urged to identify unemployed individuals and guide them to apply for government positions.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced an ambitious plan to generate 12,000 direct government jobs within the next two years. The employment initiative, revealed on Sunday, aims to address unemployment across different educational levels in the coastal state.

The hiring campaign will be carried out through various government agencies such as the Goa Staff Selection Commission and Goa Public Service Commission, which will create 8,000 to 10,000 jobs for graduates and postgraduates. At the same time, the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation will design 4,000 skill-based opportunities specifically for school dropouts (Class X and XII) and widows, providing inclusive employment growth.

Chief Minister Sawant emphasized the government's commitment to leaving no one behind in the job market. "We are creating pathways for all sections - from highly educated youth to those who had to discontinue their studies," he stated. The BJP leader also called upon party workers to actively identify unemployed individuals in their communities and guide them through the application process for these government positions.

Positive trends characterized the present employment scenario in Goa, according to Sawant, because of the increasing openness on the part of the youth towards apprenticeships and private sector jobs. "The mindset is changing. Today's youth are more willing to explore various employment avenues while waiting for government jobs," he observed.

This complete employment generation plan is one component of the state government's general plan to enhance economic involvement and decrease unemployment by means of formalized, multi-level recruitment practices. The program is set to have a strong influence on Goa's labor market while tackling the varied needs of its labor force.
