India's gaming sector is poised for remarkable growth, with experts at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) advocating for the creation of more jobs in the esports and game development industry. Speaking at the India Gaming Show in Pune, CII President R. Dinesh highlighted the country's potential to lead in intellectual property creation, paving the way for increased employment opportunities in these sectors. Dinesh projected exponential growth for the industry, noting its rising prominence both nationally and internationally.

The sixth edition of the India Gaming Show witnessed participation from over 70 exhibitors representing 10 countries, with Indonesia making its debut as the guest country. Despite currently holding a market share of under 1 percent, India's gaming sector is primed for expansion, driven by trends in PC, mobile, and console gaming.

Dinesh stressed India's opportunity to develop tailor-made games, ensuring global recognition for both domestic and international products. However, he also emphasized the need for a responsible policy framework in the burgeoning sector. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII, echoed this sentiment, advocating for the socialization of responsible gaming practices to educate the populace and promote ethical usage.

Furthermore, Banerjee underscored the importance of innovation and skill development in the industry to enhance the talent pool and improve demographics. He noted a significant increase in the number of women in the sector, highlighting the positive impact of these initiatives.

Overall, the India Gaming Show served as a platform to showcase the potential of India's gaming industry and underscored the need for responsible growth supported by innovation, skill development, and inclusive practices. With the right policies and initiatives in place, the sector is poised to thrive, creating more opportunities for employment and economic growth in the country.
