How the HR can Manage Time in the Coming Year

Bangalore: Time waits for no one; you can't bring the time back, neither can you hold it for some time. You will have to manage your task list according to time and complete it by the end of the day. Being in an HR department you must have noticed that time flies, and you still find yourself piled up with files. But for the coming year, there are some tips following which you might manage your work timings properly.

There are upcoming HR software which can reduce your work load, but it has got some cons too. This software has got many steps, efforts and daily list which you have to check daily.

Jessica Miller-Merrell, SPHR in social media wrote on blogs.payscale.com on tips to manage the time. They are-

1. Time scheduling- Try scheduling your Outlook inbox so that you don’t have to keep replying to your mails every now and then. Fix a proper time in a day when you can read all your mails and reply to them and then log out. You can schedule it for 2-3 times a day so that it does not hamper your other work.

2. Don't pile up work- If you get a work or a mail which you can complete within 2 or 3 minutes, then do it at the very moment. Don’t leave it pending. This will force you to rethink about this topic and hence there will be more wastage of time.

3. Meetings and agenda- If a meeting is going to be held, then ask for the agenda first. If no one knows what the meeting is about, it is useless to go. Meetings are considered to be time killers if they are not related to your work. So try to figure out who are the speakers in the meeting so that you can assess if it will contribute to your work directly.

4. Browse social sites in between- You can check social sites for updates on prospective candidates while taking small breaks so that you don’t feel overloaded all the time. But once you have checked, don’t forget to close the tab because it might distract you from work.
 
5. Proper use of technology- You can optimize the use of the Outlook features. Take some time out to create separate folders for internal mails, general mails, staff mails etc. so that you don’t have to waste time looking for important mails.
