Youth Unemployment Remains A Major Concern In India
Among the most affected in terms of unemployment were the two most marginalized sections of Indian society—the Dalits and Adivasis. The unemployment rate in the working age population of 15-59 years among Dalits is a shocking 18 percent, wherein for adivasis, the unemployment rate is 19 percent.

Even though the bulk of non-workers are indeed women, individuals in 20 to 29 years of age group seeking work was projected at 20 percent, which was the same as for men in the same age group.
Young women wanting to work has become an urban phenomenon because women in both rural and urban areas seeking work were high at 17 percent and 20 percent respectively.
