Mads Christensen, the Network Director at Eurocom Worldwide commented that, the 21st century human is learning that every action leaves an ineradicable digital trial. Continuing, he has also said that, the coming years many individuals will be challenged by what they are making public in various social networking sites and forums.

Christensen cautioned that, the fact that one in five applicants end up in disqualifying themselves in an interview because of the content in the social media sphere is a warning for all the job hunters.

The survey has also found that about half of tech companies are planning to increase their social media spend within the next few years. Though, half of the firms admitted that they were not sure about the benefits with the social media plans, as they couldn’t precisely measure the impact of their investment.

According to the survey, most popular social media platform for most of the tech companies was LinkedIn as it showed that about 78 percent of the respondents had an account in that site and about 67 percent of the respondents tweeted, 64 percent of them had a Facebook account and 56 percent of them admitted that they were having a YouTube presence.
