This shows there is a lack of good jobs in the State. However, as it was reported on the “The Raj Bhavan Gangtok, Sikkim” website, the Chief Minister’s Self Employment Scheme has become an important initiative to help the State’s younger generation to be independent, as it provides financial assistance to the youths to start their own businesses in the areas of tourism, hospitality, agro-industries and animal husbandry. This scheme might have been taken as an important step to reduce the rate of unemployment in the State.
