Women More Comfortable Than Men in Work-Life Balance
When you concentrate only on the United Sates, as they are the last nation in the healthy work- life balance OECD list, there was another survey conducted by the Mercer, on how many U.S. employees were actually succeeding their work-life balance. In that survey, it was reported that U.S. employees were slightly have a positive look towards their work life balance when compared to five years ago. It was very surprising that, more of women employees were of the opinion that they are able to find a balance between their personal and professional lives. Along with women employees, young workers are also giving more prominence to flexible work arrangements in U.S.
Burce Barge, Partner in Mercer’s Human Capital business is of the opinion that "Because of economy driven changes in the workplace in the recent time, only few U.S workers said their work loads are reasonable, but in spite of that response there were many other workers who were of the opinion that they could manage their work life balance successfully."
The survey has also found that in the U.S., the work life balance is one of the important factors which influenced employee motivation and engagement. Barge added that even though employees wish to work hard, simultaneously they also want a better arrangement that can reflect and accommodate their personal lives.
