An insurance underwriter is a financial professional who evaluates the risks of insuring a particular person or his asset and uses that information to set premium pricing for insurance policies. Insurance underwriters are generally employed by insurance companies to help price life insurance, health insurance, home owners insurance and among others.
Mark Sieverkropp, a consultant and director of happen-ings said, "The responsibility of an insurance underwriter is to assess the risk associated with insuring an individual or account and then set insurance premiums appropriately."
An insurance underwriter in this field requires strong computer skills and insurance-related work experience that would do a world of good in this profession.
