2. Evaluate the job requirements again:

Before applying for the higher post, firstly compare the job requirements with your experience and qualifications and think upon by yourself can you be the right candidate for that position if you get promoted. Think whether you can do justice for that position if you are recruited. If the supervisors don’t find you as the right person for that post, instead of keeping quiet, go to them and ask them about what was missing in you that the position demanded and start working towards it to get another chance in the future.

3. Don’t feel bad if not selected:

It is true that everyone feel sad if they are not selected for the higher post especially if they find the person who got selected was not as qualified as them for that position in terms of education and experience. So, instead of feeling bitter towards the person who got promoted, make a point to build a friendly relationship with him or her especially if they are going to be your new head. Instead of thinking, it was their luck to get selected, think that they had something unique quality in them to get selected which you never had. If you get to know about your new boss, certainly you will be learning something valuable from them which will be of your help in future.
