5. Valiyaveetil Diju:
Valiyaveetil Diju, is the Indian Badminton player who comes from Kozhikode, Kerala. Along with his doubles partner Jwala Gutta, they are at present ranked World No. 13 mixed-doubles pair by the Badminton World Federation. He also represented India in the badminton mixed-doubles category alongside his partner Jwala Gutta. But this pair lost in the very first match of their Olympics match at the Wembley Arena within 25 minutes. Diju has also got the credit of being four time National mixed-doubles champion. He is also the bronze medal winner at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Diju and Jwala have the credit of becoming the first mixed-double badminton pair in India to have won the Grand Prix Gold title after they won the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix on August 30th 2009.
He got into this sport by representing Calicut University at the All India University Championships. At present, he is currently serving as the HR Manager at the ONGC, Chennai, as reported on Wikipedia.
