Vishal Dhupar quits Symantec India

Bangalore: Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director has quit Symantec India. According to the company, Dhupar has put on his papers and will quit on 12th October 2010, to pursue new career aspirations ahead of Symantec. Meanwhile Eric Hoh, Vice President, Asia South Region Symantec, will step in as the interim Managing Director till the company appoints a new leader.
Dhupar has overall five years of total experience leading Symantec. Before joining Symantec, Dhupar was the Managing Director for Autodesk where he led the Indian operations for the Autodesk Design Solution Group(DSG) business in SAARC. Prior to that, he was as Prior to that he was with Sun Microsystems as the General Manager, where he led the manufacturing and energy sector. Later on he was promoted as Director of Sales. During his six year stint at Sun Microsystems, Dhupar was one of the few Sun employee who won the coveted Sunrise Award, a reward for the top performers across the world.
Dhupar is postgraduate degree holder in Business management form Bangalore University and is also a member of the advance management program form the prestigious All India Management Association (AIMA). He started his career by joining DCM Data Product and then he moved to Digital Technologies and Silicon Graphics before joining Sun Microsystems.
