Venkatesh Swaminathan New Country Head for Attachmate Group

Bangalore: Venkatesh Swaminathan is appointed to lead the Indian Operations of the Washington based Attachmate Group’s principal holding software companies like Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE. Being appointed as the Country Head, Venkatesh will be in charge for the continual development of the group in India. His key area of work will be to strengthen its business units in Indian market and to improve the business value of these brands to enterprise customers. Reportedly, Venkatesh will be reporting to the Attachmate Group’s Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific region, Boris Ivancic.

“With his vast experience spanning 17 years and his ability to deal with customers across verticals and geographies, Venkatesh will be an asset for us in reinforcing our current market presence in a fast growing and dynamic market such as India,” said Boris Ivancic, reports Biztech2.com.

Venkatesh was the first dedicated resource appointed by Microsoft Corporation for Identity and Access (IDA) business in India, prior to this role. Holding years of experience with several business enterprises like Microsoft Corporation, Websense, RSA Security B.V., APARA Enterprise Solutions, Ramco Systems, Satyam Infoway and Business India Information Technology, Venkatesh is said to have wide knowledge on the market trends. He was working as Regional Manager for South and SAARC regions during his profession at Websense Inc and RSA Security B.V.

“I am glad to be associated with these prestigious brands – Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE – all which enjoy a long history of innovation, product quality, and commitment to customer success. With over 12 years in the security domain, I see the need for increased emphasis on SIEM today – a key market for NetIQ – amidst global threats and this was one of the primary factors that attracted me to this leadership opportunity. NetIQ offerings provide differentiators in Identity and Security management; also, with Linux becoming a much more popular choice across the world today; largely for its cost and reliability benefits over other technologies; and the convergence of security to end point management solutions makes our solutions under Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE a great fit suited to meet the customers’ requirements as well as harness the existing growth opportunities in the market today,” said Venkatesh Swaminathan.
