Two Hours Post Lunch Bring Out The Sluggish Side Of Employees: Jobbuzz Survey
BANGALORE: At work do you ever get the feeling of being sluggish after lunch and worse trying to keep from falling asleep? Well if so then you are not alone from a recent survey by JobBuzz which has revealed that the following two hours after lunch are the least productive. In agreement to the study more than 70 per cent of the respondents agree that the two-hour’s post-lunch period is the least productive.
"Working after lunches is the worst. The meeting goes on and pizzas are brought into the room - they are like sleeping tablets. The quality of the discussion immediately starts to fade after lunch, everyone feels sleepy and lethargic.” said Venkat Prasad, a senior program analyst at a dotcom, reports Business Insider.
However, in an effective approach to tackle the situation, JobBuzz has advised bosses to give the maximum amount of work in the first two hours of the day while they are fresh and the mind is clear. Over 65 per cent of all respondents also agree with this statement as they are the most productive in the first couple of hours on reaching the office.
JobBuzz.in further stated that the study shows a difference in pattern for male and female workers respectively. While 70 per cent of male respondents despise the post lunch working hours as least favorable, nearly 50 per cent female respondents express their dislike towards the last two hours of office."By the end of the day, I get tired and distracted, and miss my little boy at home, who invariably calls me to ask me when I will be home. I just want to wrap up quickly and go home to my kid.” said Meenakshi Sinha, a Product Engineer at an IT firm.
The survey also revealed the shift from the expression "Monday blues" to "Thursday blues" as Monday is regarded as the productive day while Thursday is the least. It is believed that despite the reluctance to the weekend drawing to a close, people have a fresh take and are eager to create a positive difference in their work.
