4. Rajiv Shah:
Rajiv also called as ‘Raj’ is currently serving as the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development [USAID]. He is also an American physician and economic development specialist. He has put his efforts on providing relief for the Haiti earthquake victims, as the Administrator of USAID and has also put in effort to relief the flood victims in Pakistan. Before he was a part of USAID, Rajiv had took up variety of leadership roles at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as the Director of Agricultural Development, Director of Financial Services, as a leader of the Strategic Opportunities initiative and Manager of this foundation’s $ 1.5 billion commitment to the Vaccine Fund. So, before joining the Bills and Melinda Gates foundation, Rajiv Shah served as the health care policy advisor on the Al Gore presidential campaign, 2000 and was also a member of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell’s transition committee on health.

On April 17th, 2009 Rajiv was selected as the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Research, Education and Economics and the Chief Scientist by the President Barack Obama.  Rajiv was born to a Hindu immigrant parents who settled in Michigan during the 1960s.
