Top B-Schools Grads in India Lack Practical Knowledge: Report

MBA grads were at par with their competitors with regards to the score on team management, but fell behind with regards to the score on work management and client management skills. The percentile variation in practical intelligence between business managers and MBA grads was 17.75 percent with respect to client engagement and 22.3 percent with regards to work management.

The overall percentile variation with regards to practical intelligence between the two was approximately 17.3 percent.

The report also added that, business managers fared better and were more consistent with regards to their performance in all spheres of practical intelligence. And the country’s top B-schools must mature further beyond providing theoretical knowledge and do the needful to hone the practical intelligence of their students, as the failure to advocate the benefits of sustainable business approaches to students leaves them ill-prepared and unqualified to face the various challenges of real-life business situations.
