These Student From Business Families Earn More Than Their Teachers
BENGALURU: When you come from a family that runs large chain of businesses you are certain to be part of it sometime in future. By future here I mean, sometime after your Management Studies. This seems to be false belief because one need not wait till they finish their studies to get their hands on the family business. And that is exactly what hese students from Jain International Residential School (JIRS) have done to prove this statement wrong.
These Students from JIRS earn from 1lakh to 20lakh on an average, Shocked? Surprised? This is a fact. Many students from Classes 9-12 have already stepped into their family-run-businesses. From product launches to making business plans these students work just as much as an MBA graduate can do. These students pull out time from their school hours and head to their company braches over the weekends and holidays and learn the hands-on job credentials.
A sprawling 350 acre school campus has as many as 750 students come from business families. In fact the school offers Family Business Management (FBM), a value-added course to those who are interested in gaining better understanding on business management. The school is a breeding ground for young billionaires.
The Economic Times had an interaction session with such students and this is what they have to say— Harsh Kedia, a 20 year old Class 10 student earns 20 lakh per annum already. Perhaps even his classmates are unaware of his income. He says, "I'm now involved in the trading of construction materials such as steel rods, electrical switches, tiles, bathroom fittings and so on. I work mostly over the phone and email."
Dhanush Srinivas of Class 11 comes from a family which owns the Nandini Deluxe restaurants. He now looks after the Banshankari and JP Nagar Branches. He says, "I'm not a boarder, so I head out during weekends and holidays and look after accounts and stocks of these two branches."
Back in our childhood we were least aware of what includes a businessman’s job. These kids are way beyond that phase and are minting money which is even more than the salary of their teachers. This instance could be an inspiration not only to school students but any others who are aspiring to get into family business. Who knows! Some of these student names might be the future Tatas, Birlas or much more.
