Temp Staffing Jobs Set To See Biggest Boom This Festive Season
BENGALURU: In this festive season, temporary jobs are set to reach high since 2011 as companies based on online retailing, consumer durables and FMCG marketers are getting ready to woo consumers, reports Economic Times.
Companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Urban Ladder, Pepperfry, LG, Samsung, Panasonic and so on are looking to hire aggressively ahead of this festive season. Sales, logistics and customer support are the major areas to hire temp workers during the period of festivals till the end of December.
According to various estimates, about 60,000-80,000 temporary jobs would be created in only in organized sector this festive season, while the unorganized sector would hire more.
"This is definitely the biggest jump in the last few years," said Rituparna Chakraborty, cofounder and senior vice-president at staffing firm TeamLease Services.
Managing director and CEO at Randstad India said, "The average salary bracket for contractual staff ranges from Rs 9,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. However, during the festive season, companies are becoming more flexible in terms of remuneration based on a candidate's competencies. Apart from the monthly salary, employers are also providing performance linked bonuses.”
