TCS Swears By Digital Technologies, To Train Over 1 Lakh Employees
BENGALURU: Tata Consultancy Services said it’s training over one lakh employees this year in digital technologies.
The Mumbai-based firm has been witnessing a strong traction in digital services and is placing big bets on new technologies.
“Given the strong pipeline and market adoption of digital services across industries, we are investing to train over 1,00,000 professionals in all relevant technologies,” TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran said.
He added that the company has made a big investment in its training programme.
TCS, which announced its first quarter earnings, had a headcount of 3,24,935 as of June 30, 2015. It added 20,302 employees.
The company said on LTM basis, the attrition rose to 15.1 per cent, from 13.8 per cent.
“It is not a cause of concern… We are confident of getting it under control in the next few quarters,” he said, adding that the company is already implementing a number of programmes, including digital training to rein in attrition.
TCS reported a 2.08 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at 5,684 crore for the quarter ended June 2015, from 5,568 crore.
The company’s consolidated revenue jumped 16.08 per cent to 25,668 crore from 22,111 crore.
