Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University has said that IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has picked up as many as 271 students, highest ever recruited by any company from the versity. In a release Hardeep Singh, Prof Incharge, Placement Department said that this is the highest number of students ever taken by any company from Guru Nanak Dev University. Before this the highest number of students placed from the campus stood at 137 which were also taken by TCS from Batch 2010, he added. He said the students selected are from batch 2011 of B Tech Computer Science, B Tech Electronics, MCA, M Tech IT and M Tech CS from all the 3 campuses -- Amritsar, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur. The selected students were offered 3.16 L per annum New recruits will join TCS in June 2011.
