Talent Management Must Be the Top Priority in India Inc
Bangalore: Maintaining the top talents in every office must be a key priority for any of the Indian companies. But as Rajeev Vasudev, a senior partner with the Egon Zehnder says that, 75 percent of the companies in India don’t even care to discuss about the performance of the company’s CEO, as they just leave alone the top leadership team without any assessment, reports Labonita Ghosh on the Economic Times.
Recently, at a conference on connecting talents which was organized by the University of Michigan, experts who participated in that conference came to the conclusion that talent is still not top of the agenda for Indian companies.
But the trend regarding this matter is considered to be exactly the opposite way in other parts of the world, says Melanie Barnett, the CEO of Michigan’s executive education program. In other parts of the world, the concept of leadership development is not just about stimulating certain competencies, but also about confidently supporting this to the firm’s strategy on its talent pool.
Retaining the top talented at the office comes at the top of the list which can be continued by having young and fairly inexperienced employees in significant positions and training them.
