New Delhi: SMART Technologies, provider of collaboration solutions, announced the appointment of Sanjiv Pande to the newly created position of Country Director, India and South Asia. Pande will be based in Delhi, with a mandate to develop new business and education opportunities for SMART throughout India and South Asia. He will manage in-country SMART staff and oversee the operations and product sales of distributors and dealers. "India and South Asia are important markets for SMART, and we recognize there is great potential for our products and solutions throughout the region. With Sanjiv as our country director, we are making a significant commitment to the region," said Nancy Knowlton, SMART's CEO. Pande expanded this section of IBM's business from $50 million to $150 million in only two years. He comes to SMART with a strong senior-level management background acquired from some of the world's leading IT companies, including HCL, Tata Elxsi and NIIT. "As one of the world's fastest growing economies and population, India provides a significant growth opportunity in both education and business for SMART," says Sanjiv Pande. "I am looking forward to assisting SMART with that growth."
