Siemens appoints Chris Hummel as Chief Marketing Officer

Munich: Siemens, a provider of enterprise communications, today announced the appointment of Chris Hummel as the company's new Chief Marketing Officer. Hummel will be responsible for the strategy, structure and execution of all Siemens Enterprise Communications' marketing activities globally. Reporting to CEO Hamid Akhavan, who himself recently joined the company from Deutsche Telekom, Hummel will serve as a member of the senior executive team.
Hamid Akhavan, Chief Executive Officer for Siemens Enterprise Communications said, "His skills strongly complement and enhance the world-class leadership team that I'm building, which is focused on helping our customers address the changing telecommunications and networking needs of today's enterprise with industry-leading products and services."
Hummel joins the company from SAP AG, where he last served as Executive Vice President of global field marketing. Hummel spent 13 years at Oracle Corporation in a number of senior sales and marketing roles around the world and helped Oracle's customer service organization earn certification from J.D. Power and Associates for its "outstanding customer service."
