Senior Techies Opt For MNCs over Startups

Bangalore: Startups already have a lot on their plate and adding to their woes is growing difficulty in finding top level talent in the IT world, especially in a county like India, reports Radhika P Nair of ET Bureau.  

The increased affinity of senior professionals towards multinationals, who offer higher salaries and greater job security, is seen as the major bone of contention that is hindering the growth of startups in the country.

It has been revealed that the unwavering attempts of some startups to lure proficient talent for the post of Chief Technological Officer (CEO) for over a year have gone in vain. And this delay in hiring is hampering the company’s quest to excel in their work.

In the words of Kunal Shah, Co-Founder of online recharge website Freecharge, "The chief technology officer is the most difficult senior management role to fill", as reported by the Economic Times. And he added that, they have been finding it hard to find appropriate replacement for this open position since the last two years.
