Bangalore: Loop Mobile and Loop Telecom has appointed Sandip Basu as the Chief Executive Officer. Basu would be responsible to lead the national launch of Loop Telecom and further strengthening the position of Loop Mobile in Mumbai, according to the company. Basu joins Loop Mobile from XCEL Telecom, where he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. At XCEL, he was responsible for building the organization to become one of the top players in the passive infrastructure provider space in India. He has management experience of over 25 years. Basu has worked with the BPL Mobile Group from 1997 to 2005 in various capacities, his last role at the Group being as the Executive Director and CEO. He brings along with him his experiences in the telecom industry having worked with Fascel, Bharti Telecom and Apollo Tyres. His earlier associations include the green field projects in telecom, having had in depth exposure in both the strategic and operations side of the business. Basu is a qualified Chartered and Cost Accountant and a Commerce Graduate from the Delhi University.
