Ravi Swaminathan to lead AMD India operations

Bangalore: AMD has appointed Ravi Swaminathan as the Managing Director and Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AMD India, which will be effective on January 4, 2010. He will be responsible for growing AMD India's sales and marketing functions in the country, reporting to Benjamin J. Williams, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, AMD Asia Pacific. "Ravi has extensive experience building relationships with large enterprises, government, SMB as well as consumers and his experience will be a strong asset to AMD India's leadership team as well as to the broader Asia Pacific and worldwide sales and marketing teams," said Williams. "India is a key high-growth market for AMD, and we continue to build our reputation as a highly respected computing and graphics powerhouse in the country." Swaminathan joins AMD from Hewlett-Packard where he was most recently President of the Personal Systems Group (PSG) in India, responsible for all function of that business group in the country. He has also previously held positions at Compaq India and ICI.
