Professionals Prefer Job Satisfaction, Growth and Passion over Money: Report
Bangalore: Industry switches have been on a high, and professionals prefer job satisfaction, growth and passion over money.
According to a recent survey conducted by ApnaCircle.com, India’s leading professional network with over 3 million users: 43 percent of the Indian professionals are Postgraduates, 39 percent Graduates and 11 percent Diploma holders.
Amongst these specializations IT tops the list with 26 percent, followed by HR/Operations/Retail with 22 percent, followed by Marketing/Advertising/ Media with 15 percent and Banking/Finance with 13 percent. Only 5 percent choose to be self-employed or take to entrepreneurship after completing their education.
Simply working and earning money is something that does not satisfy today’s youth or professionals. The youth today act as “careerpreneurs” and for them being completely satisfied with their work and growth is very important. They take risk in their careers like an entrepreneur does to reinvent themselves. However talking about the current trend of industry switch, according to the survey by ApnaCircle.com, over 50 percent switched their Industry after their first job. The survey found three major reasons for the switch. 34 percent complained of Lack of Growth and Opportunity in their current profiles. 33 percent of professionals had either lost interest or realized their own potential. A minimum of 23 percent have switched industry for monetary reasons.
