Over 15,000 students participated in IIT Bombay's annual fest

Mumbai: More than 15,000 students from reputed engineering colleges across the country have participated in Zephyr'09, IIT Bombay's three-day annual festival hosted by its department of aerospace engineering on October 09, 2009. Zephyr has developed into a strong platform for student-industry-academia interaction. The highlights of this year’s even were talks on global technology collaboration by Dr Naveed Hussain, Vice President, Engineering and Technology, Boeing India, and networking India with regional air transportation by Dr Kota Harinarayana, Raja Ramanna Fellow, National Aerospace Laboratories. The Power paragliding, which was conducted on the sports grounds of IIT Bombay, was displayed for the first time in any college festival. Another first of its kind in India was the mobile flight simulator that was showcased at Zephyr. Participating teams have also got to learn the fundamentals of building model aircraft in the Boeing remote control plane workshop.
