In KMAT general body meeting, colleges have decided to give some more time to the students to apply for KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test). KMAT will be held on 3rd August and the last date to apply for KMAT is 24th July.
KMAT is for the students to get a seat through management quota. Students with CAT, MAT, CMAT, KAMT and PGCET scores can apply for management quota and those students who haven't attended PGCET counseling even with a score can also get a management seat.
M Prakash, secretary, Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges' Association, said, there are more colleges that offer MBA program including the distance education programs, increasing the seats further. Unfortunately, the placement is less and therefore the applications are less, reports Times of India.
Experts said that the job profile of management graduates is changing and the top technical universities has offered the course in recent years can be major reasons for decline in the demand for MBA seats. The graduates today feel better to pursue MCom instead of MBA.
