Nearly 98 Percent Engineering Graduates Prefer Jobs In SMEs
BANGALORE: The small and medium enterprise has so far contributed in large way for the graduates in shaping up their careers. And when it comes to students from the engineering background, SMEs are the first choice for these professionals. According to the survey conducted by HR and recruitment services firm Talent Management Institute, 98.4 percent of engineering graduates are opting to work in the SME sector, reports Economic Times.
The survey was conducted among 328 engineering graduates in places like Hyderabad and Secunderabad where the respondents were picked from the B.E/ B.Tech backgrounds with 0-5 years of work experience. The result of this survey revealed that SMEs had a great influence over engineering grads in choosing their preferences. Close to 90.8 percent of the respondents said SMEs are their first option because it provides a good work culture. The graduates also credited SMEs for having a better work-life balance, and a friendly work-environment, which makes it easier to shape up a career.
And what about large companies? About 53.9 percent respondents preferred large companies as a good work place. In addition, the graduates believe that by getting into large companies would definitely give them the real work exposure coupled with better benefits, structured growth opportunities and a professional work culture.
