This college major is basically a study of the relationship between people, technology and organization. It is a people-oriented degree with an emphasis on service through technology. Grads employed in this field essentially help business organizations maximize benefits from investment in personnel, equipment and business processes.  

The projected job growth of a management information system professional is 18.1 percent and the estimated growth in pay is 73 percent.
